About Me
About Me
Hello, I’m Michaela.
My journey into yoga began with the fun of movement. As a kid, I was a gymnast, drawn to the joy of mastering skills and the friendships I formed. Though if I'm honest, I never really loved the competitive aspect. What I did take from that experience was a strong understanding of how the body works, which eventually led to my first job as a gymnastics coach!
In my early twenties, while travelling in Nepal, I tried yoga for the first time during a retreat. It was a completely new way of connecting with myself, it was fun, and so varied and from then I was captivated. Over the next 10 years, I explored various styles of yoga, predominantly vinyasa and flowing styles to begin with and sinking into slower and deeper styles over time.
My Training
After years of deepening my practice, I decided to take the leap and become a teacher, completing my training at Sussex Yoga Training. I was drawn to their non-lineage approach to yoga teacher training, instead we studied the history and philosophy of yoga, anatomy and physiology and of course the benefits and how to teach asana's.
Specialising in pregnancy & postnatal
During my own pregnancy and post-natal journey, I was curious about what my body could do, but I found there was often too much focus on limitations rather than potential. This led me to further specialise in pregnancy and post-natal yoga, completing my training with Sally Parkes Yoga School. I am passionate about supporting women through this transformative stage of life, helping them embrace their strength and connect with their bodies in a positive way.
Today, I teach a mixture of flowing, restorative, and tailored pregnancy and post-natal classes, helping students find a practice that meets their needs, wherever they are in life.
My Approach
Yoga isn’t one-size-fits-all. It’s a practice that evolves with you, day by day, phase by phase. I believe yoga helps you find calm, explore what your body is capable of, and adapt to what you need in the moment.
I look forward to sharing this practice with you!
